Fox builds third season of hit competition format Lego Masters in US

Lockdown led to a boom in interest in Lego Masters

US network Fox has ordered a third season of reality competition format Lego Masters, with the new run set to debut next year.

Fox’s version of Lego Masters is based on the format that first aired in the UK. Arrested Development star Will Arnett hosts and executive produces the US edition.

Produced by Endemol Shine North America, Tuesday’s Child and Plan B Entertainment, the show sees teams of Lego enthusiasts look to impress a panel of judges with their Lego-building skills.

According to Fox, season two was tied for the most-watched broadcast entertainment programme in the teen demographic, as well as the 18-49 and 18-34 age groups.

The show’s other exec producers include Pip Wells, Sharon Levy, DJ Nurre and Michael Heyerman for Endemol Shine North America; Karen Smith and Steph Harris for Tuesday’s Child; Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner for Plan B; and Jill Wilfert and Robert May for the Lego Group.

International adaptations of the series have been made several territories, including France, Denmark, Finland, Australia and Norway.
