Deep Fusion hires Alexandra Wall, creates YouTube channel fronted by Traitors contestant

UK-based AI specialist prodco Deep Fusion Films has hired Alexandra Wall, former head of streaming editorial at Channel 4, and launched a new YouTube channel fronted by a contestant on the UK version of The Traitors.

Wall has taken the newly created role of head of digital and content strategy, having built up 16 years’ experience in streaming and VoD.

The exec joined broadcaster Channel 4 in 2012 and has worked across its digital transformation led by its streamer, now called Channel 4 and previously known as 4oD and All 4.

Wall headed the platform editorial team, leading on Channel 4’s personalisation strategy and driving innovation in content presentation. She left the broadcaster last year.

The appointment is part of the company’s broader channel building strategy, which has seen the launch of a new YouTube channel fronted by interiors and lifestyle specialist Frankie Rowan-Plowden, who starred in season three of The Traitors on the BBC.

Since then, she has become an interior expert on ITV’s This Morning and has also appeared in Homes Under the Hammer on the BBC.

A few months ago John Gore Studios, the TV venture from the media entrepreneur and theatre producer, acquired a majority stake in Deep Fusion.

The newly launched channel, named after Rowan-Plowden, features two main formats, a weekly vlog and Frankie’s Fixes, which is open to brand sponsorship opportunities.

Rowan-Plowden will respond to viewer submissions, offering bespoke design solutions aided by generative AI visualisations created by Deep Fusion.

New AI-driven formats will be released over time as the channel develops, Deep Fusion Films said.
