Decode’s Grandpa travels worldwide

Live-action family series Grandpa In My Pocket (52×12′) has been picked up by a number of networks around the world from DHX Media’s kids specialist Decode Enterprises.

Sales of the CBeebies-commissioned grandfather/grandson comedy have gone to Hop (Israel), RUV (Iceland), OKTV (Singapore), MCOM (Greece), Canal+ (France), TFO, TVO and Knowledge (Canada), NRK (Norway), Sub Juniori (Finland) and English-speaking Arabic kids net Al Jazeera Children’s Channel.

CBeebies Latin America has also taken the series for the first time, while ABC TV (Australia) has signed up for a second season and an additional home entertainment deal.

CBeebies has made further acquisitions for the US Hispanic, Polish, South African and Asian markets for the Finance Wales/Adastra Creative-produced show.

In addition, DHX Media has also made several licensing deals for the show, which explores the relationship of a seven-year-old boy and his elderly grandfather, including a DVD distribution pact with Warner Home Video UK. Stella Project will act as licensing agent for Australia and New Zealand.
