Cineflix Rights acquires trio of Lion titles

UK-based distributor Cineflix Rights has penned a deal with All3Media-owned Lion TV for the distribution of three new shows which will launch at Mipcom in Cannes next month.

Egypt’s Lost Pyramid

The shows include the UKTV docuseries Steam Train Journey (10×60’), which showcases Britain’s heritage railways and the 30,000 volunteers who help maintain them.

Cineflix has also acquired the rights to the one-hour documentary Egypt’s Lost Pyramid, which uncovers a previously unknown pyramid and sheds light on the stories behind it. The documentary is a copro between Lion TV and At Land Productions for Channel 4 in the UK, and Smithsonian Channel in the US.

Finally, the culinary docuseries Step Up to the Plate (15×30’) caps off the deal. The series features French maître d’ Fred Sirieix and chef Allegra McEvedy as they search for the next generation of restaurant industry talent.

Earlier this month parent company All3Media brought its Lime Pictures and Lion TV arms together under a shared leadership team.
