All3Media links up Lime Pictures, Lion TV

Production and distribution group All3Media is bringing together its Lime Pictures and Lion TV labels, with Lion TV MD Shahana Meer leaving the business.

Richard Bradley and Nick Catliff, currently joint MDs of Lion with Meer, will become Lion’s chief creative officer and chief content officer respectively.

They will now report to Lime Pictures’ joint MDs Kate Little and Claire Poyser.

Lion TV will continue as its own distinct company, operating in the UK and US as part of the Lime Pictures set-up.

But Meer, Bradley and Catliff’s fellow joint MD, has decided she does not wish to be part of the restructure and has chosen to leave to explore other opportunities, All3 said in an announcement to staff today.

The realignment will see Lion TV’s London team moving to be co-sited with Lime Pictures. Lion TV’s Glasgow and New York operations remain unchanged.

Jane Turton, CEO of Liberty Global- and Discovery-owned All3Media, said: “The changes we are making will allow Richard and Nick to concentrate on developing the slate even further while benefitting from the operational support and resources provided by the team at Lime, along with Kate and Claire’s first-class track record of growing strong, creative and successful businesses.

“It’s very sad that Shahana is leaving and I’d like to thank her for playing such a key role in Lion and in the wider group over many years. It has been a pleasure working with Shahana and I wish her every success in the future.”

Meer added: “I am so proud of what I have achieved at Lion Television. I leave on a high knowing that I have helped create and run one of the most admired and successful production companies in the UK and internationally.”

Lion slate of factual shows and formats includes Homes Under The Hammer, Horrible Histories and Cash Cab, which is currently being rebooted in the US by Bravo.

The move comes amidst a period of expansion and change for Lime. It rejigged its management, and moved head of unscripted development Ben Compton to the US, in January. That was swiftly followed by the establishment of its first kids division.

It has since been staffing up in unscripted with Nick Johns joining from STV in May and ITV Studios alum Helen Kruger Batt coming on board in August.
