C More deal sees BritBox break the Nordics to deliver UK programming package

Swedish streamer C More has completed a deal with BBC and ITV joint-venture SVoD BritBox to bring its classic UK content to Scandinavian audiences.

The deal marks BritBox’s first foray into the Nordics, and means the service’s content will be available in a total of eight countries with a selection of subtitles.

Subject to regulatory clearances, BritBox will be distributed directly by C More in Sweden, Denmark and Finland, and via TV2 in Norway. After launching in 2017, the platform broke into South Africa this summer.

Shows on the platform include classics such as Doctor Who and Only Fools and Horses, as well as modern series Irvine Welsh’s Crime. BritBox’s original series The Beast Must Die also sold in five countries this week.
