Autentic reveals summer slate spanning Trump, Suriname, blue-chip wildlife

Suriname: The Green Heart of South America comes from Brandmedia Film

German distributor Autentic has unveiled its summer 2026 factual slate, featuring current affairs, history, blue-chip wildlife, travel and science across a range of new documentary titles and series.

Autentic’s People & Places strand features Suriname: The Green Heart of South America, a two-part Brandmedia Film production exploring one of the world’s least-known rainforest regions, and the second season of Through Snow & Ice: Swiss Alpine Rail Journeys, a four-part series from Mediafisch returning to the winter landscapes of the Alps.

The current affairs strand addresses pressing global issues, led by Under Pressure – Trump’s Fractured America, a 52-minute portrait of a divided US under Donald Trump’s renewed presidency, produced by Tob Film. It also features Digital Aliens – Excluded in a Connected World, from Hoferichter & Jacobs, which examines how digitalisation is creating new forms of inequality.

The slate from the Beta Film-owned company also takes in Bargain Dealers, a nine-part series from GiUMa Produzioni set in an Italian vintage market where each object carries its own story and price.

In history, Autentic is presenting Ancient Pompeii – The Secrets of Villa Oplontis, a two-part production from Go Button Media and Autentic uncovering one of the Roman Empire’s most luxurious villas; Auschwitz-Birkenau: The Forgotten Revolt, from Digital Images, which examines an act of resistance inside the notorious concentration camp; and The Apple Story – Selling the Revolution, a Spiegel TV production charting the rise of the company that reshaped technology and everyday life.

The blue-chip wildlife offering is led by four new titles from Terra Mater Studios. India – Monsoon Kingdom is a two-part coproduction with Dandy Lion Films exploring the relationship between India’s landscapes and wildlife, while Wild Boreal, made with Story Surge Films, portrays life in the northern forests. Terra Mater Studios also brings Christmas in the Alps and Mallorca – Beyond the Beaches.

Further wildlife titles include The Archipelago, a two-parter from Boreales set in remote island ecosystems shaped by geological forces, and The Hidden World of Dolphins from Marquardt Medienproduktion.

Completing the slate is Milestones of the Solar System, a six-part science and technology series from Go Button Media for Munich-based Autentic. First announced at the London TV Screenings in February, it traces the events that shaped the planetary system through a combination of scientific detail and cinematic storytelling.
