Australian pubcaster ABC has created a spin-off from its flagship children’s property Giggle and Hoot.

Aimed at preschoolers, Hoot Hoot Go! (26×5′) will begin airing on ABC Kids next month and mixes live-action puppetry with CGI animation.

The series focuses on imaginative play while incorporating elements of pro-social learning and exploring core values such as friendship, sharing and co-operation, according to executive producer Jan Stradling.

Giggle and Hoot began airing down under in 2010 and features host Jimmy Giggle, played by James Rees, alongside puppet owls Hoot and Hootabelle.
