A24’s Friday the 13th prequel series Crystal Lake heading to Sky in UK and Ireland

MIPCOM: Pay TV broadcaster Sky has picked up Crystal Lake, a prequel to the Friday the 13th franchise, for its UK feed and streaming service NOW in the UK and Ireland in 2026.

Produced by A24 for Peacock in the US, the series marks the first new project connected to the franchise since the reboot of the original 2009 film.

Crystal Lake stars Linda Cardellini (Dead to Me, No Good Deed), who will play the familiar character from the franchise, Pamela Voorhees. Cardellini will be joined by William Catlett (A Thousand & One, Constellation), Devin Kessler (Godfather of Harlem), Cameron Scoggins (Shades of Blue, Nashville) and Gwendolyn Sundstrom.

Michael Lennox (Say Nothing, Derry Girls), directing duo Celine Held and Logan George  (Topside, Caddo Lake), and Quyen Tran (Sirens, The Pitt) will direct multiple episodes. Lennox will also serve as executive producer.

Crystal Lake was created by showrunner, writer and executive producer Brad Caleb Kane (It: Welcome to Derry), who joins A24 and original Friday the 13th writer Victor Miller.

The deal with A24 was negotiated by Katie Keenan, group director of acquisitions for Sky UK and Europe, and Facundo Bailez, head of acquisitions, and announced on the first day of Mipcom.
