Saudi Broadcasting Authority takes The 1% Club into Arabic-speaking market

Gameshow format The 1% Club

The Saudi Broadcasting Authority has begun production in Riyadh on the first Arabic-language adaptation of BBC Studios-distributed quiz format The 1% Club.

The local version, titled Tahaadi 1%, is set to air on entertainment and drama channel SBC. It will bring together 100 contestants in each episode to tackle increasingly difficult questions based on logic, observation and deduction for a top prize of SAR250,000 (US$66,758).

The commission marks the format’s first entry into the Arabic-speaking market, following its expansion into 15 international territories, including the US, Australia, France, Germany and Spain.

Created by Andy Auerbach and Dean Nabarro at Magnum Media in 2022, The 1% Club first launched on ITV in the UK, where it will be on air until at least 2029 following a bumper renewal https://www.c21media.net/news/itv-renews-hit-quiz-the-1-club-for-a-further-three-years-adds-specials/ earlier this year.
