Bravo greenlights first scripted microdrama and Next Gen spin-off

Charmed by a Southern Monster

NBCUniversal-owned network Bravo has commissioned its first scripted microdrama series, in addition to ordering an Atlanta-based spin-off of its reality series Next Gen NYC.

The microseries, Charmed by a Southern Monster, stars Craig Conover and Nicole Mattox and is described as blending “soapy romance, workplace rivalry and small-town mystery.”

Produced by Micromaker and Haymaker East, the story follows a corporate fixer who is sent to seduce a rumoured murderer into selling his family’s estate. But as she uncovers the truth about the town’s most feared man, a dangerous ex-boyfriend, family secrets and a billion-dollar development deal threaten their growing connection. It will premiere on Peacock on November 9.

Meanwhile, Next Gen Atlanta is produced by Blink49 Studios and follows a new generation of rising personalities making their mark in a city where hip-hop, sports and entertainment shape the social scene.

Elsewhere, Bravo made a raft of renewals, with new orders for Next Gen NYC (season three, Truly Original), In The City (S2, Truly Original) and Southern Hospitality (S5, Haymaker East).
