JK Media makes microdrama debut with two US-made projects for ViXMicro

LA-based JK Media Group is producing two Spanish-language microdramas for TelevisaUnivision’s ViXMicrO, among the first US-produced series for the platform.

Encerrada con el enemigo (Trapped with the Enemy) and Infidelidad amenazada (Threatened Infidelity) were both shot in Los Angeles and are set to debut later this year. Both series have 60 standalone episodes that last around 90 seconds each.

Sebastian Jimenez and Flavio Morales executive produce for JK Media Group, with Sergio Jablon (Súbete a Mi Moto) writing both series.

Encerrada con el enemigo follows a woman trapped in a parking garage by her violent former partner after he escapes prison, while a mysterious man arrives offering help.

Infidelidad amenazada centres on a woman who discovers her husband is having an affair, setting off a chain of betrayals and a plot involving her family’s property.

Fernanda Romero (The Eye, The Burning Plain) stars in both series. Infidelidad amenazada also stars Suanny Serpas and comedian Concrete, while Liliana Arriaga appears in Encerrada con el enemigo.

The projects mark JK Media Group’s first move into microdramas and follows the launch of its docuseries Ninel Conde: Sin Filtro for ViX.

The company also produced the pay-per-view broadcast of Gloria Trevi: Live from BMO Stadium, which streamed on Veeps, and is developing further live events in Mexico, Colombia and Argentina.
