Denmark’s Kanal 5 is rebooting heritage Nordic format This is Your Fridge following a deal with Belgian sales house Glow Media.

Due to air on the Warner Bros Discovery (WBD)-owned broadcaster in spring 2027, it will be produced by Laud People and presented in partnership with supermarket chain Netto.

It comes after the show was brought back by WBD-owned Kanal 5 and HBO Max in Sweden in 2024, with a fifth season set to launch in 2027.

The series follows famous chefs tasked with cooking dinner using only the ingredients of a celebrity’s fridge. The new Danish version will be hosted by chef Timm Vladimir.

The format, distributed by Glow Media, originated on SVT in Sweden three decades ago and was first adapted in Denmark on TV2 in the 1990s and on TV3 Puls in 2012.

It has previously been produced in Germany (NDR) and Norway (TV2), among other territories.

Format specialist Siobhan Crawford, who set up Glow Media in 2022 and has written a regular column about the formats industry https://www.c21media.net/author/siobhan-crawford/ for C21 for the past two years, described the show as a “simple lifestyle format that is bingeable, cost-efficient and with a great on-demand following” while being “naturally brand-friendly.”
