Tareq Taylor fronts the new version of This is Your Fridge

Sweden’s Kanal 5 will reboot heritage format This is Your Fridge in the autumn, with chef Tareq Taylor as the new host.

To be produced by Warner Bros International Television Production Sweden, the series will once again follow famous chefs tasked with cooking dinner using only the ingredients of a celebrity’s fridge.

The deal was announced by Belgian sales house Glow Media, which was set up by format specialist Siobhan Crawford in 2022 and distributes the format.

Launched in the early 1990s, This is Your Fridge has previously been produced in Germany (NDR), Denmark (TV2), Sweden (SVT) and Norway (TV2), among other territories.

Crawford said: “This reboot is a labour of love. It has taken me years to bring it back, but it is such an iconic show in the Nordics. I hope the rest of the world will see this as the bingeable addictive viewing I do.”
