Breakthrough role for Peacock exec

Canada’s Breakthrough Entertainment has brought in the VP of distribution at fellow Canuck firm Peacock Alley Entertainment to perform the same role at its sales arm.

Craig McGillivray rejoins Breakthrough at its Toronto headquarters, where he will work on both international sales and programming acquisitions.

McGillivray joined Peacock in 2013 from DHX Media, where he had spent four years as territory manager handling programme sales for Asia, Australia, Latin America and Canada.

Prior to that he worked as a sales exec at Breakthrough, where he handled sales to Eastern and Central Europe, Asia, Australia, Latin America and Canada.

The appointment follows the departure of Breakthrough’s director of international distribution, Kate Blank, who has joined the fledgling sales arm of Blue Ant Media in Canada.

Breakthrough was formed more than 30 years ago and shops a catalogue of around 3,000 half-hours of content, recently selling a host of shows to Asian broadcasters and acquiring Vancouver-based Joker Films in May last year.
