WarnerMedia names interim WB bosses

The CEO of WarnerMedia has chosen three Warner Bros executives to run the studio in the interim following the resignation of its CEO Kevin Tsujihara.

John Stankey has tasked Peter Roth, Kim Williams and Toby Emmerich to lead the studio until a new chairman and CEO is named.

The three are president and chief content officer of Warner Bros Television Group; executive VP and chief financial officer at Warner Bros Entertainment; and chairman of Warner Bros Pictures Group respectively.

The move come after Tsujihara left the job he had held for six years earlier this week following allegations of misconduct.

This came shortly after he had been confirmed as continuing head of the film studio amid a major reorganisation following AT&T’s takeover of parent firm Time Warner. He also added global kids and young adult responsibilities to his role.

Roth has also taken on board the latter responsibilities following Tsujihara’s departure. This includes Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Adult Swim and Warner Bros. Animation as well as all licensed consumer products.

A Hollywood Reporter report revealed text messages that suggested Tsujihara used his influence to help actor Charlotte Kirk gain roles while the pair were in a sexual relationship.

An investigation is underway into the claims and Tsujihara’s attorney has said he had no direct role in Kirk securing acting jobs.
