Dean Devlin is chairman and CEO of independent US production company Electric Entertainment, which is behind series including TNT dramas Leverage and The Librarians, plus The Outpost for The CW and Almost Paradise for WGN America.

He has also co-written and produced a string of Hollywood blockbusters including Universal Soldier, Stargate, Godzilla and Independence Day.

Electric will this year debut a revival of Leverage via IMDb TV and has licensed a number of other titles to the Amazon-owned streaming service, as well as launched its own offering in the space called ElectricNow.

Devlin spoke to Oli Hammett about these developments, how he sees the industry changing with the growth of VoD, why he still believes in the power of linear TV and his fears for the future of theatrical releases.

Jack Davison is executive VP of 3Vision, a UK-based international content consultancy with clients including BBC Studios, Canal+, Discovery and ViacomCBS.

He was previously head of VoD product at Virgin Media and was a pioneer of IPTV while at Yes Television, as well as working for IMG Media.

As part of C21’s ongoing Beyond 2020 series of interviews and articles, he spoke to Karolina Kaminska to give his take on how the events of last year will shape the industry in 2021 and the years to come – including the impact of production hiatuses, the accelerated boom in streaming and studios retaining rights to their own shows.
