Smallville lead Tom Welling and Brendan Fraser – best known for his turns in big-screen franchise The Mummy – star in all-action drama Professionals, about a group of private military contractors hired by a tech billionaire to investigate the explosion of one of his space rockets.

Co-creator and co-showrunner Jeff Most and Welling, who is also an executive producer, speak with Michael Pickard about the development and production of the series, which is backed by Germany’s Leonine, distributed by Rainmaker Content and has Nordic streamer Viaplay as its anchor platform.

UK indie Plimsoll Productions took full ownership of distributor Magnify Media in September. The latter’s founder and CEO Andrea Jackson, who founded Zeal Entertainment before selling it to DRG, speak to Clive Whittingham about what this deal means for her company.

She also reflects on what did and didn’t work during this year’s inaugural digital edition of Mipcom and compares the opposite directions of the factual and format sales markets during the pandemic.
