Showtime ups Levine, Winograde

US cablenet Showtime has promoted Gary Levine and Jana Winograde to co-presidents of entertainment following David Nevins’ recent promotion at parent company CBS Corp.

Levine was previously president of programming at Showtime, while Winograde was president of business operations on the west coast for the network.

The move comes after Showtime CEO Nevins was promoted to chief creative officer at CBS Corp in October as the company continues its rejig following the exit of chairman Leslie Moonves.

In their expanded roles, Levine and Winograde will supervise all aspects of Showtime comedy, drama and unscripted programming, documentaries and films.

The re-jig has also seen Amy Israel and Vinnie Malhotra promoted to executive VP, scripted programming, and executive VP, non-fiction programming respectively.

Levine and Winograde will continue to report to Nevins. Israel and Malhotra, who previously reported to Levine, will now be under him and Winograde.

“As we invest more deeply in creating world class content for our audiences, this new structure positions us strongly for the future of our business,” said Nevins.

Veteran media exec Moonves left CBS in September following allegations of sexual misconduct and was replaced on an interim basis by Joe Ianniello while CBS searches for a full-time replacement.
