RTL, CBS net arrives in Singapore

MIPCOM: RTL CBS Asia Entertainment, the joint-venture HD channel from RTL Group and CBS Studios International, is to launch in Singapore.

The channel will be made available on digital pay TV platform mio TV under a carriage deal with its owner, telco SingTel.

RTL CBS Asia Entertainment will join the platform’s Family+ Pack on October 16, offering subscribers a range of US and international entertainment and drama content.

Its programmes will include The X Factor USA and America’s Got Talent; entertainment news from Entertainment Tonight; and dramas Elementary and Under the Dome.

RTL CBS Entertainment HD is rolling out across the region following its launch in Malaysia and Thailand last month.

“We have been actively seeking out fresh TV channels and content,” said Goh Seow Eng, SingTel’s MD of TV.
