YouTube expands Sesame Street partnership, adds more content to platform

YouTube is bringing more episodes of Sesame Street to its platform

YouTube is expanding its partnership with non-profit organisation Sesame Workshop to bring more episodes of long-running kids’ series Sesame Street to its platform.

According to YouTube, from January 2026 the platform will have the largest digital library of Sesame Street content, with hundreds of full episodes. In addition to the collection of episodes, Sesame Street will continue to post content created especially for YouTube.

YouTube said the Sesame Street channels on the platform have garnered more than five billion views in the past year, which is a 130% increase year-on-year, and that over half of the official channel’s YouTube watch time is on connected TV screens.

As part of the expanded partnership, Sesame Workshop will also lead a series of workshops with YouTube creators to share best practices on how to create content that is entertaining while also promoting learning.

Katie Kurtz, MD of youth and learning partnerships at YouTube, said: “This partnership is another example of how we’re bringing everything families want to watch together in one place. On YouTube and YouTube Kids, fan favourites like Sesame Street live right alongside Ms Rachel, Doggyland and Gabby’s Dollhouse, giving families a single destination for all the content they love.”
