Wild Sheep Content to shop and coproduce NZ horror comedy series Good Bones from Luminous Beast

‘Home renovation and murder mystery’ comedy-horror Good Bones

US-based Wild Sheep Content has signed up to distribute New Zealand comedy horror mystery Good Bones from New Zealand’s Luminous Beast and serve as coproducer on the series.

Created and produced by Luminous Beast and commissioned by Sky New Zealand as an original production, the series is written by Luminous Beast founders Dan Musgove and Shoshana McCallum and directed by Peter Salmon, also a founder of the prodco.

Under the deal, Wild Sheep will handle international distribution, backed by The Mediapro Studio of Spain.

Wild Sheep is the production and distribution company launched and led by former Netflix VP of international Erik Barmack.

Speaking at the Content London Drama Series Pitch in December, where the show was first pitched to delegates, Musgrove said: “With its winning combination of home renovation and murder mystery, Good Bones has huge international marketability,”

The comedy follows a man poised to become a first-time father who buys a rundown house and needs to solve the cold case murder mystery that the house contains while renovating it in time for the birth of his child.

“One-third relationship comedy, one-third home renovation and one-third murder mystery, Good Bones is the kind of show that travels,” said a Wild Sheep statement.
