Lea Thompson as Victoria and Stacey Farber as Darby in The Spencer Sisters

International buyers including Warner Bros Discovery in France, NBCUniversal in Germany and Japan’s Wowow have acquired Canadian drama series The Spencer Sisters.

Produced by Entertainment One (eOne) and Buffalo Gal Pictures, the show was also licensed to Disney (Middle East and Portugal), Play Media (Belgium), TV Joj (Slovakia) and Tet/Telia (Baltics).

It stars Lea Thompson (Back to the Future, Caroline in the City) and Stacey Farber (Superman & Lois, Schitt’s Creek) and follows a mystery novelist and her daughter Darby Spencer who are mistaken as sisters as they tackle puzzling cases.

The series was originally commissioned by Bell Media-owned broadcast network CTV, where it premiered in late January. It was subsequently picked up by The CW in the US, with eOne handling international sales.

The Spencer Sisters is created by Alan McCullough (Private Eyes, Rookie Blue), who executive produces alongside co-showrunner Jenn Engels (Sort Of). Jocelyn Hamilton and Tecca Crosby are executive producers for eOne, and Phyllis Laing and Jennifer Beasley are exec producers for Buffalo Gal Pictures.
