Universal’s Sitting Ducks takes off

ANNECY NEWS – Universal’s new cgi children's animated series Sitting Ducks has been licensed to broadcasters in the UK, Canada, France, Australia, Portugal, Mexico, Greece and the Netherlands.

The UK’s ITV has secured exclusive rights to the 26×11' series in the UK, while France's TF1, Australia's ABC, Mexico's Televisa, Portugal's TVI and Star TV in Greece have all secured free terrestrial TV rights to the series in each of their respective territories.

Cable and satellite rights to Sitting Ducks have been acquired by Canada's YTV and by Nickelodeon in Australia. In the Netherlands, Sitting Ducks will be shown exclusively on the SBS group of channels.

Sitting Ducks is a whimsical children's animated series based on the characters created by world-renowned pop artist Michael Bedard. His work is already known internationally, with a poster art franchise that has garnered more then $70m worldwide.

This series follows the feathered citizens of Duck Town, focusing on the unusual friendship of a duck named Bill and his best pal, an alligator named Aldo.

Sitting Ducks is produced by Universal Pictures Visual Programming in association with Sitting Ducks Productions, and distributed by Universal Studios Television Distribution.
