Universal makes way for Noddy

In the UK, Universal Pictures Video has secured home video and DVD rights to Make Way For Noddy, the updated cgi version of the classic Enid Blyton toon owned by Chorion Intellectual Properties.

The deal sees UPV releasing its first VHSs and DVDs of the 100×10' preschool animated series this autumn. The release will coincides with the arrival of the series on Channel 5's Milkshake block and the roll out of other Noddy merchandise.

Chorion's chairman Nick Tamblyn said: {With both TV rights through Channel 5 and video/DVD rights through Universal, we've now secured two of the leading distribution channels in the UK required to spearhead the Noddy relaunch.{

Noddy will join UPV's line-up of classic kids' brand, which also includes Barney the Dinosaur, Maisy and Barbie in the Nutcracker from Entertainment Rights.
