Ultraviolet shines on AXN again

Ultraviolet was picked up by Netflix last year

Sony-owned AXN in Poland has commissioned a second season of its original crime drama Ultraviolet from local prodco Opus TV.

The new 12-episode season will begin production in the Polish city of Łódź in May. Executive produced by Wendy West (Dexter, Inhuman) and Barry Josephson (Enchanted, Wild Wild West), the show is inspired by Deborah Halber’s book The Skeleton Crew.

It follows Ola Serafin (Marta Nieradkiewicz), a 30-something woman who attempts to solve crime cases sidelined by the police.

Ultraviolet’s scriptwriters for season two are Dominik W Rettinger (Warsaw Pact), Piotr Rzepka, Piotr Januszewicz, Bartosz Janiszewski, Marzena Podgórska and Joanna Pawluśkiewicz.

Season two will be directed by Bartosz Prokopowicz (Chemo), Łukasz Kośmicki (The Coldest Game) and Anna Jadowska (Wild Roses).

Ultraviolet, which debuted on AXN  in October 2017, was picked up by global streamer Netflix last August.
