Luc Dionne

Luc Dionne is a Canadian screenwriter, producer and director born in Quebec in 1960 and with over 25 years’ experience in film and television.

He made his entry into the world of screenwriting in 1996 with Omertà, la loi du silence, often cited as an inspiration for The Sopranos.

Since then, he has written drama series including Tag, Bunker Le Cirque, The Last Chapter and Blue Moon, as well as movies Monica La Mitraille, Aurore and L’enfant Prodige.

For the past five years, Dionne has been writing daily drama District 31, which examines the inner workings of a police squad in a Montreal district.

As part of C21’s Content Quebec On Demand, he spoke with Michael Pickard about how he has navigated his career, the lessons learned from it, the challenges of penning 160 pages of scripts a week and offers some invaluable tips to upcoming writers.
