TNT explore Swedish vampire drama

Let Me In

US film adaptation Let Me In stars Chloë Grace Moretz

Turner Broadcasting-owned US cablenet TNT has ordered a pilot based on the Swedish vampire novel and feature film Let the Right One In.

The pilot is being produced by Tomorrow Studios in association with Turner’s in-house production arm Studio T.

The TV version comes after Let the Right One In was remade in the US as the film Let Me In, which was released in 2010 and stars Chloë Grace Moretz.

TNT’s pilot will draw from the original source material, written by Swedish author John Ajvide Lindqvist.

Jeff Davis (Criminal Minds, Teen Wolf) wrote the script for the pilot and serves as executive producer, alongside Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios and Simon Oakes of Hammer Films.

The eerie drama follows a young boy, long tormented by his classmates, who finds solace in a friendship with a charismatic female vampire who appears to be near his age.

The vampire settles into the boy’s small Vermont town with her mysterious caretaker, just as a series of bizarre murders begins attracting the attention of law enforcement.

“Let the Right One In combines elements of horror, revenge thriller and adolescent romance into an unforgettable and truly unsettling tale,” said Sarah Aubrey, executive VP of original programming for TNT.

TNT is ramping up its original programming, with Good Behavior, The Alienist, Will and Foreign Bodies joining Animal Kingdom on its slate. Also in the works at TNT are the pilots Monsters of God, Civil and Claws.
