Teletoon’s Locke joins Portfolio

The VP of business operations at Teletoon Canada has left to join Canadian prodco Portfolio Entertainment as its VP of finance and chief operating officer.

Trent Locke joined Teletoon Canada in 2000 as director of finance and helped launch the company’s digital specialty network, Teletoon Retro, in 2007.

His exit comes amid a spate of recent departures at the channel since it was taken over by Corus Entertainment late last year.

Director of original content Alan Gregg left last month, while president Len Cochrane, a founding board member of the broadcaster, retired in January.

Producer Portfolio Entertainment specialises in children’s, factual, and primetime content, while its distribution division, Portfolio International, represents more than 2,000 episodes of children’s and factual programming.
