Studio Lambert has agreed a first-look deal with writer, actor and creator Daniel Lawrence Taylor as the two continue their ongoing creative collaboration.

The new agreement gives All3Media-owned Studio Lambert first-look rights to develop scripted projects with Taylor, best known as the showrunner behind BBC comedy drama Boarders.

Set to return for a third and final season in 2026 on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three, the young-adult series is produced by Studio Lambert in association with All3Media International. It follows the lives of five black inner-city teens as they navigate their way through the British public school system, and is made with international partners including Tubi in the US and ZDF in Germany.

Taylor first rose to prominence in 2017 with the ITV2 comedy Timewasters, which he created and starred in.

“Working on Boarders has been one of the most creatively fulfilling experiences of my career,” Taylor said. “Collaborating with the team at Studio Lambert has been a true pleasure. It only makes sense to keep that momentum going. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built, and I can’t wait to push the boundaries even further and see what we cook up next.”

Madeleine Sinclair, creative director of scripted at Studio Lambert, said: “Daniel is a truly singular talent. His writing crackles with energy and insight, humour and heart. At Studio Lambert, we strive to develop dramas that are bold, relatable and impossible to ignore – and Daniel’s work embodies that ethos. He’s been a total joy to work with on Boarders and we’re thrilled to continue our creative journey with him. I’m excited for what’s to come.”
