Starz wins bidding war to adapt supernatural graphic novel Bone Parish

US network and streamer Starz has won a bidding war to develop an adaptation of supernatural crime graphic novel Bone Parish.

Published by Boom! Studios, Bone Parish was written by Cullen Bunn and Jonas Scharf. Starz has begun developing the adaptation, which is being exec produced by Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson through his banner G-Unit Film & Television.

Diane Ademu-John and Declan de Barra (Dune: Prophecy, The Witcher: Blood Origin) are also exec producers and co-showrunners, while Stephen Christy and Mette Norkjaer exec produce for Boom! Studios.

Set in the dark underworld of New Orleans, Bone Parish centres on a family who builds an empire around a powerful new drug – crafted from the ashes of the dead – that grants users vivid, haunting visions of the past.

But as demand surges, rival factions, deadly secrets and supernatural forces close in, pulling them deeper into a violent and inescapable nightmare of crime, horror and family legacy.

Bone Parish is the latest series on Starz’s project slate with Jackson, which also includes the Power universe and Fightland.
