The SSS-Class Revival Hunter webcomic has run to 151 episodes so far

Sony-owned streamer Crunchyroll is gearing up to launch an anime adaptation of Korean webcomic series SSS-Class Revival Hunter in early 2027.

Crunchyroll will stream the series in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, the Indian Subcontinent, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore in January 2027.

Hiroaki Sakurai (The Disastrous Life of Saiki K) will direct the series at Studio fu, with Sayuri Oba writing and Takahiro Yoshimatsu on character design. Takeo Otsuka has been cast as Kim Gongja, alongside Satoshi Hino as Sword Emperor.

The original SSS-Class Revival Hunter webcomic debuted in December 2020, with 151 episodes released to date. An English-language version of the webcomic is available on South Korean webtoon and prose publishing website and app Tapas.

It follows a weak ‘F-rank’ hunter of monsters who, jealous of the Flame Emperor who reigns as the top hunter, joins forces with the Sword Emperor and gains a rare S-rank skill, with one catch: he must die to activate it.
