Skyscraper Live producer Paul Wright hired to strengthen Plimsoll Productions’ live content roster

ITV Studios-owned prodco Plimsoll Productions has hired executive producer Paul Wright to strengthen the UK- and US-based outfit’s live content slate.

Wright will develop programming across genres including adventure, factual entertainment and natural history for the UK- and US-based outfit.

Wright is a Royal Television Society and Rose d’Or-winning executive producer and showrunner with more than 25 years of experience – 17 of which were spent at the BBC.

His programme credits include Bigheads (ITV), The Million Pound Cube (ITV), Sounds Like Friday Night (BBC), Pride of Britain (ITV), Comic Relief’s Big Chat with Graham Norton (BBC), US Sing On! with Titus Burgess (Netflix), US Lingo with RuPaul (CBS) and the Laureus World Sport Awards (Sky/NBC).

Wright also served as an executive producer on Skyscraper Live with Alex Honnold, the Netflix live event produced by Plimsoll which saw free climber Honnold scale a skyscraper in Taipei.

Plimsoll’s other shows include A Real Bug’s Life (Disney+/National Geographic), Nightmares of Nature (Netflix) produced in partnership with Blumhouse Television, Are You My First? (Hulu) and Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters (ITV). The company is currently in production on Surviving Pompeii with Tom Hiddleston (Disney+/National Geographic) and has several unannounced live projects in development and production.
