US television station group The EW Scripps Company has revealed a slate of original content, including makeover series The Silver Fox Squad and news show Connected with Alisyn Camerota, ahead of its annual upfront event in New York tomorrow.

Alisyn Camerota

Produced by Kevin Hart’s prodco Hartbeat and BluSpeed Productions, the former is a 10-part series which will air on Bounce later this year. It features stylish entrepreneurial men aged over 50 who share their expertise with guys who need a glow up.

Meanwhile, former CNN and Fox News journalist Alisyn Camerota will front Scripps News show Connected with Alisyn Camerota. Premiering on March 27, it will feature in-depth, one-on-one conversations with politicians, journalists, musicians, sports leaders and regular people caught in extraordinary situations.

The company is also launching free streaming channel Scripps Sports Network today. The 24/7 FAST offering comprises a lineup of live sports, encore presentations of fan-favourite events and exclusive, original programming.

The first two series see sports broadcaster Suzy Kolber talk to sports trailblazers who broke the rules and rewrote the playbook; and an intimate conversation series with Olympic sprint champion Sanya Richards-Ross, who explores life after gold and the power of reinvention.

Finally, Scripps has revealed that it plans to add original content to its Grit network for the first time in its 12-year history. The network has several series in development and is expected to announce its first production shortly.

Scripps will hold its upfront event on Wednesday, March 25, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Keisha Taylor Starr, general manager of Scripps Networks, and Scripps’ chief marketing officer, said: “With this next wave of originals, our team is taking Scripps’ diverse programming ecosystem to the next level. By expanding into new series, new formats and new platforms, Scripps is delivering more impactful, culturally resonant stories for our viewers and advertisers.”
