Chinese microdrama When Fish Swim to the Land

Singapore-based microdrama studio RisingJoy has expanded its content licensing partnerships to more than 50 apps and platforms across over 30 countries.

Citing rising demand for microdramas globally, the company has agreed deals with apps such as Kuku TV, IDN and Viu for Chinese productions such as Summer Rose, The Blade of Rouge and Good Girl’s Dark Secret.

Its 2026 first-window slate features The Doppelganger (Barunson E&A, Korea) and When Fish Swim to the Land (Netease Antelope, China).

The company said it is also co-developing micro IP with studios across China, Korea, Japan, India and the US while collaborating with its investor and strategic partner Double Vision on original micro formats.

Its catalogue spans over 650 titles, the majority of which are Chinese-language, with more than 200 English-language and over 50 Korean titles. It includes variety, reality and comedy content and a new slate of AI anime and what the company calls ‘AI Human’ content for Gen Z audiences.
