Rafe Spall crime drama Under Salt Marsh gets second season on Sky

Under Salt Marsh’s second season will have a different title

UK pay TV broadcaster Sky has ordered a second season of crime drama Under Salt Marsh, starring Rafe Spall (The English, The Salisbury Poisonings).

From creator, writer and director Claire Oakley, and produced by Little Door Productions and Sky Studios, the six-part second season will take on a different title from the first, with the story moving from Wales to Scotland.

While S2 will feature a new cast of characters, Spall will reprise his role as Detective Eric Bull, who moves to a remote Scottish mining village to undertake a murder investigation.

In-Sook Chappell, Jonathan Harbottle and Scott Graham are writing the script alongside Oakley, who also exec produces with Little Door CEO and co-founder Elwen Rowlands and Sky’s Megan Spanjian. Zoranna Piggott is series producer.

Filming will begin in 2027 ahead of a premiere on Sky and streaming service Now in the UK, Ireland and Italy. NBCUniversal Global Distribution handles international sales.
