Little Dot Studios has launched a YouTube channel and podcast with broadcaster and arithmetician Rachel Riley in partnership with the National Numeracy charity.

In The Maths of Everything, the Countdown co-host takes a deep dive into the numbers and formulas that underpin our lives and the world around us.

The YouTube channel will release a new episode every week of the year and feature a number of formats, including a 30-minute explainer show.

The explainer will break down the mathematics and statistics behind diverse topics from space travel and nature to ancient history and fast food. The first episode, The Maths of Space Travel, went live yesterday (October 26).

In other formats, Riley will welcome guests, reveal data about our everyday lives and demystify the most intimidating of equations.
