Qubo turns five, acquires 400 hours

US English- and Spanish-language multiplatform kidsnet Qubo Channel has bought 400 hours of children’s and family for its platforms.

Dex Hamilton: Alien Entomologist

The channel, which recently turned five, has acquired 16 half-hour series, comprising animation and live-action, to roll out this year and next. First up will be Timeblazers and Dex Hamilton: Alien Entomologist, which launch this quarter.

Artzooka, Jakers, Sandra the Fairytale Detective, Guess with Jess, and Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego are among the shows debuting this coming spring and summer. Eliot Kid, Liberty’s Kids, Timothy Goes to School, Archie’s Weird Mysteries, Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century and Culture Click will debut in the fall.

Qubo formed in 2006 as a joint venture of Corus Entertainment, NBCUniversal, Classic Media, Scholastic and ION Media Networks. It broadcasts as a digital TV network, an on-demand service and a branded block on NBC, Hispanic net Telemundo and Ion Television channels.
