Amazon’s Prime Video has ordered a US version of unscripted comedy format LOL: Last One Laughing, to be produced by Fulwell Entertainment.

The format, which has been a huge success for Prime Video in different markets around the world, challenges comedians to spend the day together without so much as cracking a smile.

Over the course of the show, they will use every ounce of their comedic talents to try to break their opponents without cracking up themselves. But it’s not just their rivals they need to watch out for; the show is packed with comedy cameos, format twists and surprises designed to lure a smile from the players.

News of the US remake was first reported by Deadline. Presenter and cast details will be revealed at a later date.

Last One Laughing is adapted from the Japanese series Documental, which was created by and stars Hitoshi Matsumoto and is owned by Yoshimoto Kogyo. The format has been adapted in over 25 territories, including the UK, Ireland, Canada, Mexico, Italy, Germany, Australia and South Africa.
