Pinto joins C21 as North American editor

C21 Media has continued the expansion of its editorial team with the appointment of respected Toronto-based journalist Jordan Pinto as North American editor, effective immediately.

Jordan Pinto

Pinto joined C21 this week from Canadian trade publication Playback, where he has worked for more than six years, most recently in the role of associate editor. Prior to Playback, he worked in South Korea.

In his new role at C21, Pinto will cover the Canadian and US beat from Toronto, working across the company’s editorial portfolio and reporting to editorial director Ed Waller.

“Jordan is an accomplished and well-respected journalist and a key hire for C21 as we expand our presence in North America. With his six years covering the Canadian television industry, he brings plenty of experience and insights to C21’s market-leading editorial coverage of the global TV sector,” said Waller.

“I’m thrilled to join C21’s outstanding editorial team during what continues to be a transformative time for the content business. It feels like this industry changes on a weekly basis and I’m excited to help C21 readers connect the dots in the rapidly evolving North American marketplace,” said Pinto.

The appointment comes soon after C21 promoted Nico Franks and Karolina Kaminska to editors of the magazines Channel21 International and C21Kids respectively in May and hired senior reporter Ruth Lawes and reporter Oli Hammett in January.
