OM-MA, the media and entertainment consulting company owned by international law firm Ontier, has appointed Miguel Gutiérrez to lead the company’s expansion across Latin America and globally from its Mexico office.

Gutiérrez brings more than two decades of experience in the audiovisual industry, with a strong background in management, operations and business development.

He most recently served as business affairs & chief operating officer at Dopamine, the studio owned by Mexican Grupo Salinas, parent company of broadcaster TV Azteca. Prior to that, he spent eight years at Televisa, where he led strategies for the protection and exploitation of the company’s intellectual and industrial property assets.

In his new role at OM-MA, Gutiérrez will be based in Mexico and will also assume responsibilities in the firm’s Miami and London offices.

His goal will be to strengthen OM-MA’s international presence and continue supporting producers, investment funds, platforms and brands with “high-value strategic solutions” that include tax incentives, brand integrations and international financing.

“Miguel’s arrival represents a strategic step in our international expansion plan,” said Secundino Velasco, president of OM-MA. “His deep knowledge of the Mexican and Latin American markets, combined with his proven track record in leading companies, will be key to consolidating OM-MA as a global benchmark in audiovisual and entertainment consulting.”

Gutiérrez added: “I’m proud to join such an innovative and disruptive organisation as OM-MA, which provides comprehensive services and solutions to the audiovisual industry. I’m convinced this project has enormous growth potential, and I’m motivated to contribute my experience to its global consolidation.”
