Milo S3 tops the pile as DeAPlaneta Entertainment packs toons for Cannes

Season three of Milo is in production

Spain-based kids’ content company DeAPlaneta Entertainment is taking a number of animated series to Mipcom, led by the third season of its hit preschool show Milo.

Milo, which debuted in 2021, follows the adventures of a little cat and his friends. S1-2 comprise 78×11’ episodes, while the 52-episode S3 is currently in production.

The show airs on broadcasters including Paramount-owned 5’s Milkshake! strand in the UK, RTVE in Spain, PBS Kids in the US, Rai in Italy, Group M6’s Gulli in France, Super RTL in Germany, RTP’s Canal Panda in Portugal and Globo in Brazil.

Magic Lilly is adapted from the Hexe Lilli book series

DeAPlaneta is also taking Magic Lilly (26×22’), its adaptation of classic German book franchise Hexe Lilli, to Mipcom. In the series, the titular character must save the fate of the world through epic magical battles while still making it back in time for high school classes and hockey games. Partner broadcasters are Super RTL, Rai, RTVE, 3Cat in Catalonia and VRT in Flanders.

Also on DeAPlaneta’s slate is Karters, which follows a group of friends who race through high-stakes battles on go-karts and embark on adventures to rescue magical unicorn-like creatures and save the kingdom. The 52×11’ S1, coproduced with Mediawan Kids and Family, will premiere this autumn.

Meanwhile, DeAPlaneta is partnering with France’s Superprod on Underdog, which follows a fearless dog who, together with other dogs with superpowers, protects the inhabitants of a city. It is a reboot of the 1960s American series of the same name.

Completing DeAPlaneta’s line-up is comedy preschool show Cloudy & Stormy, which comes from Polish studio Laniakea Pictures. Currently in production, the 52×7’ series encourages learning through play, fostering positive emotions and a reassuring sense of safety through the adventures of two dog sisters. Partners on board include Petlovers in Brazil.
