Marquee TV is launching across Central and Eastern Europe
UK- and US-based streamer Marquee TV has linked up with South-east Europe telecoms and media provider United Group to launch a linear arts and culture channel across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
Marquee TV brings a curated selection of premium arts and cultural content, including performances and documentaries spanning classical and contemporary genres, to CEE.
The new channel is available on SBB Serbia, Telemach Montenegro, Telemach Bosnia and Herzegovina, Telemach Slovenia, Vivacom Bulgaria and Net TV. Further partnerships and regional expansion will be announced in due course, Marquee TV said.
It marks the first linear channel from London- and New York-based Marquee TV, which has previously only been available as a subscription VoD service.
Marquee TV features classical ballet and opera as well as contemporary dance, theatre, music and documentaries.
It includes content from partners such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Houston Ballet, National Theatre of Scotland and the San Francisco Dance Film Festival.
Edward Humphrey, CEO of Marquee TV, said: “This is a significant milestone for Marquee TV as we bring our unique arts and culture programming to linear audiences for the first time.
“We are delighted to partner with United Group to expand our reach in Central and Eastern Europe, delivering an inclusive and immersive experience that bridges traditional and digital arts viewing. This launch sets a new standard for cultural broadcasting – bold, dynamic, and accessible to all.”
Suzana Radošević, content management director of United Group, said: “We are delighted to expand our content portfolio with the addition of Marquee TV on our EON platform across Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, and for NetTV Plus users globally.
“By including premium arts and cultural programming such as opera, ballet, and other great artistic performances, we are ensuring that our audiences have access to diverse, high-quality content that enriches their viewing experience. This partnership reflects our commitment to meeting the evolving preferences of our users across the region.”
