La Chouette Compagnie adapts Frostheart books into animated series

La Chouette Compagnie is adapting Jamie Littler’s Frostheart books

French animation prodco La Chouette Compagnie is adapting British author-illustrator Jamie Littler’s Frostheart books into an animated series, together with German broadcaster Super RTL.

Aimed at six-to nine-year-olds, the adaptation, called Frostheart: The Seven Hearts of Darkness (26×22’), follows the adventures of a boy and his friend in a magical world as they set out on a mission to uncover the truth behind a series of strange events.

Their investigation leads them on an extraordinary journey across the farthest reaches of the Snow Sea, where they confront a dark mystery buried deep within the world’s past.

The 2D computer animated series is written by La Chouette Compagnie’s creative director Sylvain Dos Santos and Antoine Maurel, and directed by Gaelle Autin.

La Chouette Compagnie will pitch the series to buyers and potential partners at Cartoon Forum in Toulouse next week.

Littler’s Frostheart book series comprises three books published between 2019 and 2021.
