Veteran format creators Cleve Keller and Dave Noll are developing a celebrity-focused adaptation of the popular board game Sequence.

Their production outfit Keller/Noll, which is behind shows including Chopped, America Says and Flip Side, has struck a deal with game manufacturer Goliath and media company Perfect Game.

The aim of the board game, which came out in 1982 and has sold more than 50 million units, is to be the first player or team to complete a specified number of five-in-a-row sequences. Per a logline, the series reimagines the board game as a “star-driven, high-energy studio competition built around a massive 16-card game board, polling questions, celebrity assists, wild jacks and a $100,000 endgame.

“In Celebrity Sequence, teams select cards on a giant game board and answer polling questions with help from one of three celebrities. Strategy, instinct and showmanship collide as players race to build their Sequence – until one team advances to the Ultimate Sequence round for a chance to win $100,000.”

Keller/Noll previously teamed with Goliath to adapt another game, Shark Bite, which is also currently in development. Perfect Game, which is led by veteran producers Corey Rogers and Ross Greenberg, holds the exclusive global media rights to multiple Goliath games.

“For 45 years, [Sequence has] been bringing families and friends together because it’s incredibly easy to learn, fun to play and you immediately want to play again,” said Goliath’s president of North America and global brands Brian Weiss.

“That’s what makes a truly great game. We’re incredibly proud of what Sequence has become, and even more excited about where we can take it next as we introduce the brand to a whole new generation of players around the world.”
