Joyn, Moonbug join forces

Little Baby Bum will be among the titles on Moonbug Kids

Joyn in Germany has partnered with LA- and London-based children’s content company Moonbug to launch the streaming platform’s first kids’ channel.

The agreement will bring Moonbug’s IP to Joyn, which is a joint venture between ProSiebenSat.1 and Discovery that launched midway through last year.

The channel, named Moonbug Kids, is the first dedicated kids’ non-linear channel to launch on Joyn and will be available on the platform shortly.

It will feature more than 500 episodes of Moonbug shows including Little Baby Bum, ARPO, Go Buster, My Magic Pet Morphle, Supa Strikas, KiiYii and Playtime with Twinkle.

Additional content will be launching later in the year. The shows will be primarily available in German, with some English episodes also offered.

Joyn MD Katja Hofem said: “With this new content partnership, we are able to add even more valuable kids’ formats to our platform. Especially in times like this, it is of high importance to us to offer preschool entertainment for kids.”

Moonbug was co-founded by media veterans René Rechtman, formerly of Maker Studios, and ex-WildBrain Spark MD John Robson in 2018.
