Joe Churchill’s Fan Club makes senior strategy and content appointments

Ellen Stewart, left, and Oliver Warley

Digital content agency Fan Club, set up last year by ex-Channel 4 commissioner Joe Churchill, has made two senior appointments to its management team to support its expansion plans and strengthen its creative and production capabilities.

Joining this month, Ellen Stewart is appointed director of strategy and operations, overseeing strategic operations, project delivery and growth initiatives as Fan Club expands its social‑first content and audience growth strategies for clients.

Stewart joins from news group and publisher Reach, where she led a department focused on data-informed decision making, audience strategy and social video distribution. She has experience in video, social and SEO, having also held senior roles at Vogue, Channel 4, The Standard, The Independent and Mail Metro Media.

Joining in mid-May, Oliver Warley is appointed head of content at Fan Club, responsible for building the in-house production team. Warley has experience in content strategy and production, previously holding senior roles at PinkNews and Jungle Creations. Over his career, he has launched new business lines and directed branded content campaigns.

Churchill, founder and CEO of Fan Club, said: “We are delighted to welcome Ellen and Oliver to Fan Club. Their appointments strengthen our offering and position us well for our next phase of growth.

“Ellen’s strategic insight, editorial leadership and deep understanding of audience behaviour will be transformative as we scale our operations, while Oliver’s exceptional experience in content strategy and production will ensure we can continue to deliver elite, market-leading work for our growing roster of clients.”
