Italy’s Mediaset acquires Spanish drama Entre Tierras from Atresmedia Sales

Entre Tierras is produced by Boomerang TV

SERIES MANIA: Broadcaster Mediaset Italia has acquired Spanish series Entre Tierras (Between Lands), in a deal closed by Atresmedia Sales during Series Mania.

Entre Tierras is a 10-part drama based on Italian miniseries La Sposa, produced by Endemol Shine Italy and Rai Fiction and aired on Rai 1 in 2022.

The Spanish drama is produced by Boomerang TV and is set in rural Spain in the 1960s, where a young woman agrees to marry a landowner in order to support her family, sacrificing her own dreams.

Following its premiere on Antena 3 in 2024, the series, starring Megan Montaner and Unax Ugalde, became the most-watched fiction on local television that year. It was later sold to platforms including Netflix and Finland’s YLE.

The deal with Mediaset Italia comes days after the presentation of the show’s second season at the Málaga Film Festival and its launch on Atresplayer, Atresmedia’s streaming platform, which releases a new episode every Sunday.

“This sale strengthens the international success of Entre Tierras, a very powerful drama with gripping storylines and plots. In addition, the outstanding performance of Megan Montaner has greatly contributed to the show’s global success”, said Atresmedia’s director of sales for Europe, Rebeca Fernández, speaking to C21 in Lille.

“Securing a deal with a major free-to-air broadcaster like Mediaset Italia opens the door for other channels, especially across Europe, to come on board and acquire the series. We are confident that in the next months we will be able to announce further sales of this great production”, she added.

This week at Series Mania, Atresmedia Sales also presented its key scripted titles for the season, including Las Hijas de la Criada, an adaptation of the literary phenomenon by Sonsoles Ónega, which became Atresplayer’s biggest launch of the past three years.
