Indie prodco Expectation and David Flynn’s Plegazoid join forces  

UK independent production company Expectation is teaming up with Plegazoid, the creative studio run by format creator David Flynn.

Flynn, known for Pointless and Small Fortune among others, will work closely with Expectation’s development team to create entertainment formats in the gameshow and reality space for networks and streamers in the UK, which will be coproduced with Plegazoid which Flynn set up in 2023.

Plegazoid is behind ITV’s upcoming quiz Time Is Money, which was co-developed and coproduced with South Shore. The company also recently partnered with Banijay to develop ideas for the French market.

Before setting up Plegazoid, Flynn founded Youngest Media, which developed and launched multiple hit gameshow and reality formats for networks in the UK, US and internationally, including Small Fortune for ITV, NBC US and CJE&M, global hit Game of Clones, which has travelled to nine territories, HouseShare, The Search and Surprize Fund.

As chief creative officer of Endemol UK, Flynn was responsible for formats including The Million Pound Drop, which has sold to 57 territories, long-running hit quiz Pointless (13 territories), 7 Days on the Breadline, The Bank Job, The Singer Takes It All, amongst others.

Expectation’s entertainment formats include In With A Shout, I Literally Just Told You, and This is MY House.

The indie’s recently announced commissions include The Dyers’ Caravan Park (w/t) a six-part Sky Original series starring Danny and Dani Dyer, two new documentaries fronted by Oobah Butler for Channel 4, How I Made a Million in 90 Days and How to Trick Your Way onto the Property Ladder, and the return of Hugh Bonneville as Ian Fletcher in Twenty Twenty Six for BBC One and iPlayer.
