Imira makes major int’l sales

KikoRiki is part of the Fun Union Riki universe

Broadcasters in Latin America, the US and EMEA have picked up a raft of content from Spanish kids and family producer-distributor Imira Entertainment.

US giant Discovery has taken new Toonz copro title Smighties (78×7’) and science and imagination series Darwin & Newts (40×11’) for its UK and Middle Eastern territories.

Fellow US firm Turner has picked up Korean studio SAMG’s preschool adventure show Vroomiz (78×13’) for Cartoonito in Italy.

Miami-based Condista has acquired all three titles in the Fun Union Riki universe for its US Hispanic territory, taking three seasons of KikoRiki (216×6’30”, 52×11’) plus BabyRiki (104×5’) and PinCode (104×13’). The company has also picked up Lil Critter Workshop’s preschool adventure series Hogie the Globehopper (52×11’), Showlab preschool programme YoYo (52×7’) and Vroomiz.

Spain’s Televisió de Catalunya (TVC) has also taken all three seasons of KikoRiki for its Super 3 channel, while SVoD platform Jason Media USA has picked up YoYo, Cam & Leon (117×3’, 39×7’) Miniforce (52×13’), Vroomiz, Watch Car (52×13’) and Mika’s Diary (52×7’).

Meanwhile, Russia’s Signal Media has formed a distribution alliance with Imira for its newly formed Lat Am and US Hispanic channel Broadcasting 12. The network will air Imira titles including two seasons of Lucky Fred (104×12’), as well as Bat Pat (52×11’), an Atlantyca, Imira and Mondo TV production with Rai and TVE. Also heading to Broadcasting 12 are BabyRiki, KikoRiki and both seasons of Smighties (78×7’), along with classics such as The Smurfs.

United Media SARL, which broadcasts in Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro, has acquired Lucky Fred (104×12’) and Alisa (24×26’).

Meanwhile, Imira will be at Natpe in Miami next week with a stand in the Spanish Pavilion, offering nine new titles not previously shown at the market.

On offer will be dialogue-free comedy Zelly Go (104×1’30”) from Dream Factory Studio, for which it has worldwide rights; plus the aforementioned KikoRiki, BabyRiki and PinCode, which target preschool and primary school kids, and Cam & Leon.

Darwin & Newts, Smighties, Sindbad & the 7 Galaxies (26×11’) and Badanamu Cadets (52×11’) complete the rest of the line-up.
